The life of a credit record

Somewhere in Kyiv there is a file about you. You are allowed to read it.

FK Midl LLC is a financial company in Kyiv. This page follows one thing from birth to retirement: the credit record — the file that decides, quietly and in advance, how every lender will treat you. Who writes it, how to read it without paying anyone, what goes wrong inside it, and how it gets fixed.

STAGE ONE

It is born the day you sign

The moment you take a loan — from a bank, a finance company or an online lender — a record about you starts being written. The consent is in the agreement you signed; lenders report, and keep reporting, for as long as the contract lives. In Ukraine the file does not sit in one place. It sits in several, and they do not all know the same things.

UBKIThe largest private credit bureau, with the widest base of banks and online lenders reporting into it.
PVBKIThe second major private bureau. Not every lender reports to every bureau — which is why one clean report is not the whole picture.
MBKIA bureau historically oriented toward businesses and their obligations.
The NBU Credit RegisterNot a bureau but the regulator's own register, into which banks report larger exposures. You can request what it holds about you from the National Bank itself.

The practical consequence: a lender you have never heard of may be reading a bureau you have never checked. When the subject matters — before a mortgage, after a refusal, after losing documents — read all of them, not one.

STAGE TWO

It lives on updates — and you may watch it free

Inside the file: your agreements, balances, payment behaviour, delays, and the trail of who has been asking about you. Lenders read it before every decision. The law makes sure you can read it too, without paying for the privilege.

Free access the law gives you
  • Once a year, in each bureau, you may receive your own credit history free of charge — and since the bureaus differ, that is several free reports a year, not one.
  • After a refusal, you have an additional free request — within thirty days of being declined because of your credit history, you are entitled to see exactly what the lender saw.
  • Your own data from the NBU Credit Register can be requested from the National Bank.

Anyone selling "credit history checks" is reselling what the law already gives you. Pay, if you want, for convenience and monitoring — never because somebody told you there was no free way in.

Read the inquiries, not just the loans

The list of who has requested your file is part of the file. Requests you cannot explain are the earliest warning you will ever get that somebody is trying to borrow in your name — earlier than any debt, any call, any letter.

STAGE THREE

It goes wrong quietly

A credit record is written by institutions, transmitted between systems and matched by identifiers — and every link in that chain can fail. The file does not warn you when it happens. It just starts answering questions about you incorrectly.

  1. The repaid loan that never closedPaid to the last kopiyka, but the lender never reported the closure — so the file shows an open obligation, and every new lender counts it against you.
  2. The delay that was the bank'sA payment posted late by the receiving side, recorded as your fault. The money left you on time; the record says otherwise.
  3. The stranger's loanA credit taken with your data — leaked, stolen or simply mismatched. You learn about it from the file, or worse, from whoever bought the debt.
  4. The doubleOne obligation reported twice through different channels, doubling your apparent debt load without a single new hryvnia borrowed.

None of these fix themselves. The record has no opinion and no initiative; it repeats what was reported into it until somebody disputes it. That somebody is you.

STAGE FOUR

It gets fixed on paper, not on the phone

The law on credit histories gives you a correction mechanism, and it runs on written applications with short statutory deadlines — not on phone calls, and not on hoping.

  1. Dispute in writing, in two placesA written application to the bureau holding the error, and to the lender that reported it. Say precisely which entry is wrong and why, and attach what proves it — receipts, statements, the closure certificate.
  2. The entry is flagged while checkedA disputed record is marked as disputed during the review, so anyone reading the file meanwhile sees that the entry is contested.
  3. Confirmed errors must be correctedThe bureau verifies with the source; where the error is confirmed, the record is corrected — free of charge, within the deadlines the law fixes. Keep the reference numbers and the dates of everything.
  4. If it stalls, escalateThe National Bank supervises this market and takes complaints; the courts sit behind it. A dispute that produced silence is not finished — it has just changed address.
If the loan was never yours

Correction alone is not enough — identity misuse is a crime. Report it to the police, get the report number, and attach it to every dispute. The police report is what turns "I disagree" into a case number institutions have to reckon with.

STAGE FIVE

It retires on schedule — and nobody can pension it off early for money

A credit history is stored for ten years after the last credit agreement closes. Then it goes, by itself, by law. Which brings us to the most profitable lie in this market.

"We will clean your credit history" — what that actually is
  • True records cannot be lawfully deleted by anyone, for any fee, through any "connections"
  • False records are corrected free of charge, by the written procedure above — paying changes nothing about it
  • Whoever promises deletion either takes the money and vanishes, or commits an offence with your name on the file
  • The only lawful "cleaners" of a credit history are time and repayment

A spoiled record fades the honest way: closed debts, time passing, new obligations paid on schedule. Slower than a scammer's promise — with the advantage of being real.

ABOUT US

What FK Midl is — and what it is not

FK Midl LLC is a financial company registered in Kyiv. Our work is with businesses and with our own resources; this page offers nothing to consumers and invites no applications. We publish it because the credit record is where every lending relationship in the country quietly begins, and the rights around it are better known to the institutions than to the people they describe.

What this page does not do, and we do not do here
  • Offer loans, credit or any financial service to anyone reading this
  • Check, "improve" or clean anybody's credit history — no one lawfully can, including us
  • Accept deposits — finance companies are not banks, and money placed with one is not covered by the Deposit Guarantee Fund
  • Publish licence numbers or certificates — which financial services any Ukrainian company is authorised to provide is checked in the National Bank's public register of financial service providers, not on the company's own site

That last habit is worth keeping for every company you meet, with no exception for us: the register, not the website, is the source of truth about who may do what.
